Logistics Safety experts met in Trieste from 24-25 October at the 8th International Eumos Conference to discuss the turning of cargo science into practice with a view of ensuring safety in the logistics chain.
Discussions ranged from new science and its practical implementation, multiplication of expert knowledge and certification, legislative development of importance to logistics safety, responsibility in the logistics chain, practical insights into logistics safety and the enforcement of rules.

After the Conference, Eumos President – Angel Hernandez – concluded that a clear common vision could be spotted in the dynamics of the conference by all participants contributing to achieve enhanced safety in logistics following the EU objectives of cutting road fatalities to 0 by 2050. A group of volunteers were called to work on a “Trieste Declaration” by pulling together the common goals identified during the discussions.
To build on the momentum reached in Trieste, Eumos is looking forward to its next International Conference planned for 2026. We count on a similarly engaged group to take the next step in maximising logistics safety in Europe!
