New Dates for the EUMOS 40607 Exam to become a Qualified Expert in Cargo Securing and Transport Packaging!
17 January 2025The European Safe Logistics Association – Eumos – unveils a comprehensive standard for the ventilation of light commercial vehicles determining how to generate safe air quality inside a vehicle and to ensure the safety of drivers and other participants on the road. The standard EUMOS 40250 illustrates requirements to the ventilation system for safeguarding that the quality of the air remains within safe boundaries by reducing moist and dangerous gases. The standard also foresees a walk-around inspection of the vehicle in order to identify potential risks and to avoid any danger at opening the door.
Angel Hernandez, Chairman of Eumos, sees “this new standard is a great move for introducing another element of caution and responsibility to the safe transport of goods. The development of this standard could be achieved thanks to the hard work of senior experts in the field.” Angel says: “It is vital that we ensure the safety of road users by setting a benchmark to the transportation of gases.” Chairman of the Technical Committee responsible for the development of the standard – Gertjan Van Der Veer – is “excited about EUMOS 40250 finally setting a standard with measurable outcome for the good air quality inside a light commercial vehicle.”
LCVs do currently not fall into the full scope of existing legislation and standards in the area which has in the past led to many serious and avoidable accidents. With this standard, producers of equipment as well as drivers of LCVs and other users will be able to follow a precise guideline including checklists and certifications ensuring all safety precautions are taken before a vehicle is taken into use as well as parked after use.
