We are sad to communicate to you that our dear member and friend Alfred Lampen has passed away.

Alfred Lampen was one of Eumos´ greatest experts in cargo securing and he obtained the Honorary Membership of Eumos thanks to his active contribution within our mission to strive for safe logistics in the interest of making European roads safe. Some of you may remember his appeal at the International Eumos Conference in Vienna in 2017 for the need of clear European rules to ensure that police and controlling authorities have the possibility to take the right decisions on cargo securing based on existing requirements. Over the years, he has been very active in international and German initiatives regarding cargo securing and he was seen as an authority in the field. Eumos will proceed with Alfred´s endeavours to create more and better safety standards and we will continue advocating for binding harmonised rules in Europe.

Alfred´s work in cargo securing, his passion for the cause and his legacy will remain very present to us even after his days with us. Eumos has lost a friend and a member, but not the ideas Alfred leaves behind.
